I am already having thyroid and diabetes, now pregnant with 7w6d. I am having high sugars and thyroid. I am currently on Novorapid four units thrice daily and Lantus four units once at night. Along with my normal Glycomet sr twice daily. Still my sugars are not coming down. Kindly advice.
Lantus mainly controls fasting and between-meal blood sugar. Adjust the dose based on fasting glucose, typically in 2–4 unit increments. NovoRapid mainly controls the rise in blood sugar after meals. Adjust the dose based on the glucose response to that particular meal, typically in 2–4 unit increments. Hoping that the insulin injection technique, site rotation and storage are appropriate.
